How am I going to be ready? I'm utterly terrified.
Furthermore, I've been wanting to do the Redbud Classic on April 4 in Oklahoma City. It's a 33 mile bike and when I first got the idea, I thought I'd be totally ready. Um, no. I went out on a 35 minute bike again today and those bikes are killing me! After training all winter on the wrong bike, getting back onto mine has been tough. There's also a 10 mile bike at the Redbud, but I know I can do that. I want the challenge, but I'm afraid 33 miles is too much of a challenge! I had a really tough time motivating, so I'm not sure why I think this will be successful, but I think I'm going to add a bike in for the next few weeks. I'm still going to do two runs and two swims, but add a bike on an off day, or combined with one of the other ones. At least 35 minutes to get my legs ready. I really want to sign up this weekend...think I should?
On another note, I checked race results today. I came in gun time at 19:20, just like I thought. We had chips, but they didn't have pads or anything so they didn't time us. Kind of a waste. I am 15th out of 16th in my age group, about eight minutes before the last girl, so not so great. 119 of all the girls, with a pace of 7:52.
Somehow, I need to find the energy and the motivation to step it up...
